Salem Church The Vision

Vision

The vision of Salem Church of God is create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Salem Church Beliefs

Beliefs

What we all believe about God is one of the most important things about us. This is a safe community where you can explore and take steps of faith. Salem's foundational beliefs are centered around Jesus and the message we have about Him found in scripture.

We believe the Bible is inspired and the authoritative Word of God and one of the primary ways God speaks to us today. We believe there is one God who eternally exists in three persons (Holy Trinity): Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God revealed Himself to us in human form, through the person of Jesus. God set us right with Himself, He saved us, through the death and resurrection of Christ. God’s presence is always with us and among us through the Holy Spirit, who leads, guides, convicts, and encourages us. When we place our faith, our trust, in Jesus, we enter into a new kind of life empowered by the Spirit. While we have a personal faith, we also have a shared faith and it is to be lived out in the context of authentic Biblical community - God’s church.

Salem Church is a non-denominational body in the mainstream of Protestant Christianity. We are part of a group of independent congregations that associate together in a movement known as the Church of God with general offices in Anderson, Indiana. Salem History

Salem's History

Born out of a house church meeting in 1895, a few people believed in the importance of growing in God together. This small group of people began to believe God for more, and eventually, that group grew into what is now called Salem Church of God. Throughout the years, the people of Salem have especially been passionate about kids, missions, and music. Salem has been and continues to be a sending church commissioning leaders, ministries and churches to spread the news of Jesus around the city, country and world.

"Growing up in a Christ centered home, I felt a call into ministry while in high school. After meeting the love of my life in college, Erin and I have been on a journey of discovering God’s gifting and passion in our lives, specifically as it relates to the local church and reaching those far from God. Erin and I are passionate about helping people take their next step with Jesus and it starts with our 4 kids: Payton, Colton, Presley and Stetson. In between wrestling matches with the kids, I enjoy hunting, time on the water, and smoking meat."
